State Secretary Van Huffelen visits Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten for meetings with residents
State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen (Kingdom Relations) will be on Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten from Monday, the 23rd to Friday, the 27th of May to meet residents, entrepreneurs, volunteers and civil society organizations and to listen to their dreams and concerns.
The State Secretary is enthusiastic about the trip: "Although I will, of course, also be speaking with administrators during this trip, the focus for me is mainly on meeting the people who live on the islands. As administrators, we are there for them and not the other way around. In concrete terms, this means that I do not only want to talk to politicians. I want to personally meet the inhabitants and the social organizations to hear about their dreams and concerns.
On Aruba, the State Secretary will speak, amongst others, with various people at the ‘Women Leadership Seminar’. On Curaçao she will spend part of her trip with people from the business community Vereniging Bedrijfsleven Curaçao (VBC). And on Sint Maarten, among other things, she will talk to Young Professionals about their ambitions.
It is the second time that Van Huffelen visits this part of the Kingdom in her capacity as State Secretary.
